Fatal Crash In Hanover Kills 38-Year-Old Man: Police
HANOVER, MD - A fatal crash in Anne Arundel County killed a man Wednesday morning, police said.
Officers identified the victim as 38-year-old Joseph Richard Muniz of York, Pennsylvania.
Authorities said they were called to the Hanover wreck around 7:40 a.m.
Police said the crash happened on Annapolis Road, also known as Maryland Route 175, at Piedmont Lane.
Officers said a 2015 Dodge Dart was turning left from eastbound Annapolis Road onto Piedmont Lane.
A 2020 Tesla Model X heading west on Annapolis Road hit the turning Dodge, authorities said.
Police said the Dodge overturned and both sedans came to rest on the grass next to the road.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced the Dodge driver dead on the scene, officers said.
His body was taken to the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy, authorities said.
The Tesla driver was not hurt.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
