GLEN BURNIE, MD - One of the area's largest private Christmas lights displays is back in Linthicum Heights.

Jeff's Christmas Light Show Spectacular opened Friday. It is open every Friday and Saturday through Dec. 23.

The display has more than 100,000 lights. There's also a 16-foot-tall stuffed animal Ferris wheel, Santa's sleigh and a replica of the house from "A Christmas Story."

Solar panels, LED lights and a "quite high" electric bill power the show.

"Most things have been collected over a very long time," the display said on its website. "A lot of things have also been donated! From statues to lights to candy canes, the community has donated a lot to help this attraction grow."

The 15-minute light show runs on repeat from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The walk-thru display opens at the end of the first show.

There are pictures with Santa Claus this Friday and Saturday. The Grinch will be available for photos on Dec. 15 and Dec. 16. The final weekend is Dec. 22 and Dec. 23.

Jeff Callaway started the display in 2017 with a 45-minute program, but that was too long for spectators to stand outside. The show was shortened to 15 minutes in 2018, drawing 2,000 visitors that year.

Callaway moved in 2020 to the current house, located at 206 S. Camp Meade Road.

The 15-minute show takes three to six months to design each year.

The show is free. There are often groups selling baked goods on-site. The show also accepts donations for future displays.

Fans can learn more by visiting jeffsmaslights.com or following the attraction on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
