Pedestrian Fatally Struck On Ritchie Highway: Police
GLEN BURNIE, MD - A pedestrian died after a car hit him on Thanksgiving in Glen Burnie, police announced Monday.
Officers identified the victim as 54-year-old Kevin Lee Crist of Glen Burnie.
Authorities said Crist was in the travel lanes, not in a crosswalk, and was wearing all dark clothing when he was struck.
Police said a 2010 Hyundai Tucson was heading north on Ritchie Highway when it hit the pedestrian at Kuethe Road around 7:40 p.m.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced the victim dead on the scene, a press release said.
The SUV driver was not hurt.
Officers did not speculate why the pedestrian was in the roadway.
Authorities are still investigating.
