“We are so thrilled to be a part of the Glen Burnie community and provide some relief with big savings on quality groceries,” Independent Operators Hussain and Ambreen Zaidi said in a press release. “This partnership with Grocery Outlet gives us the ability to grow our business, create new jobs and more importantly, give back to the local community.”
The Zaidi's also donated $1,000 to HOPE For All, a Glen Burnie nonprofit that provides furniture, household items and clothing to people in need.
Now through Dec. 7, all Grocery Outlet customers can enter for a chance to win $1,000 in groceries. The winner will get 20 separate $50 gift cards. Customers can enter the contest here.
The first 100 adult customers at the store opening got mystery gift cards worth $5 to $500. All shoppers also collected a free reusable bag.
