New Furniture Store Opens In Glen Burnie, Donates To North County Charities

GLEN BURNIE, MD - Glen Burnie has a new furniture store. Bob's Discount Furniture opened on Aug. 22 and celebrated its grand opening on Sept. 1, company representatives told Patch. 

This is the chain's first location in Anne Arundel County.

The 24,000-square-foot store is in Governor Plaza between Petco and Big Lots. Located at 6625 Gov. Ritchie Highway, Bob's fills the vacancy left by A.C. Moore.

"Bob's Discount Furniture, the 8th largest U.S. furniture chain with 166 stores across 24 states and over $2B in annual sales, is excited to announce the opening of its newest location in Glen Burnie," the company said in a press release. "Bob's is eager to continue growing our customer base by offering a great selection of quality furniture that's comfortable, stylish, durable and affordable."

At its grand opening ceremony, Bob's donated $5,000 to Glen Burnie area charities. The donation was evenly split between Harvest Resources, which feeds people recovering from addiction, and the North County Emergency Outreach Network, an information portal for mental and behavioral health care.

Bob's Discount Furniture was founded in 1991.
