Fatal Shooting In Glen Burnie Apartment Building Claims Man, Hospitalizes Another: Police

GLEN BURNIE, MD - A man was killed and another was hospitalized in a Glen Burnie shooting early Friday morning, county police said.

Officers identified the victim as 20-year-old Lamarge Antoine Prettyman Jr. of Baltimore.

Authorities expect the other victim, a 23-year-old Baltimore man, to survive. The pair was accompanied by a third male who was not hurt, police said.

Officers said they were called to an apartment building in the 7800 block of Bruton Court around 12:50 a.m.

Authorities said they found the injured men inside the building. 

Detectives said they later learned that the three males were in the hallway outside an apartment when an unknown suspect shot at them and immediately fled.

Police do not have any information on the suspect.

The fire department pronounced Prettyman dead on the scene, a press release said.

Officials said they took his remains to the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy in Baltimore.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating the case as a homicide.
