ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD - Three new Anne Arundel County Public Schools buildings open next week.
The new facilities are Hillsmere Elementary in Annapolis, Rippling Woods Elementary in Glen Burnie and Quarterfield Elementary in Severn. All three are replacements for older buildings.
Chesapeake Science Point, a charter school in Hanover, is also adding an elementary school this year. It previously only served middle and high schoolers.
The replacement process for Hillsmere, Rippling Woods and Quarterfield elementary schools started in May 2019. Construction began 2 years later.
