HANOVER, MD - WayForth is closing its moving and storage office in Hanover. A total of 76 employees were laid off because of this Anne Arundel County closure.

The company is closing all of its locations except the one in Richmond, Virginia.

WayForth announced the closure Tuesday on Facebook and Wednesday on Maryland's layoff warning system, called Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification.

The closures are all effective Friday, WayForth said.

"First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and understanding during this challenging time," WayForth said on Facebook. "We have had the honor of serving the senior community since 2016, and we cannot thank you enough for being a part of our journey."

Eye On Annapolis reported that WayForth expanded rapidly and opened offices in Sarasota, Dallas and Houston last year.

Before the closure, the company had 16 locations spread between:

  • Maryland
  • Virginia
  • Massachusetts
  • Pennsylvania
  • New Jersey
  • Connecticut
  • North Carolina
  • Florida
  • Texas

The Hanover office was located at 7020 Dorsey Road, Suite C.

WayForth started with three employees in 2016 and grew to 443 by 2022, Eye On Annapolis said.

"Thank you once again for your ongoing support and patience during this time," WayForth said. "We appreciate each and every one of you."
