Man Sustains Serious Burns in Smoking Accident
Firefighters said the Glen Burnie man may have tried to smoke while hooked up to oxygen.
A man in Glen Burnie sustained serious burns on Sunday morning when he began smoking while hooked up to oxygen. Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Mike Pfaltzgraff said firefighters responded just before 10 a.m. to the 800 block of Scott Circle. They arrived to find the man, approximately 64 years old, unresponsive and with burns to his face. He was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Pfaltzgraff said it appeared that the man was hooked up to oxygen and attempted to begin smoking.
