Jessica Lynn Lee, who was missing from Brooklyn Park, was found dead in Pasadena last week.
Ann Burke said she still hoped her daughter, Jessica Lynn Lee, would return to her Brooklyn Park home despite being missing for nearly three months. Burke said her worst nightmare became a reality Friday when county police detectives told her family that human remains found in Pasadena on Aug. 6 were her daughter’s. DNA confirmed the match, police said. “Even when they found the remains, I hoped it wasn’t her. I never gave up hope until Friday at 11 a.m. when detectives came and told us,” Burke said. “I can’t believe she’s gone. A suspect stabbed a victim during a robbery in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday evening, police said. According to a police, officers responded to the 5700 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park for a reported fight. Unable to find any victims or suspects, they went to Park Elementary to inquire about a person who had been stabbed. Witnesses told police that the person was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC) for treatment. Officers spoke with the victim at BWMC, who was one of two victims of a robbery. The victims told police they were approached by three male suspects who demanded money. The victims told the suspects they didn't have any money and a struggle ensued. Brooklyn Park: Burn incident A 46-year-old man suffered burns to his face Wednesday night in Brooklyn Park, but they were not caused by fireworks, fire officials said. According to fire spokesman Lt. Cliff Kooser, firefighters and medics responded to the 5700 block of Franklin Street at about 10:20 p.m. for a reported burned patient. Investigators determined that the man possessed black powder, which came in contact with a spark or flame, Kooser said. He suffered second-degree burns and was transported by ambulance to the Burn Center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Two men with handguns robbed Daddy Pa's deli in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday night, police said. According to a police press release, officers responded to the deli located in the 4100 block of Ritchie Highway for a reported armed robbery. Officers spoke with the clerk who said two men entered the store with handguns drawn and demanded money. They took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area in an unknown direction. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the men.

A Brooklyn Park man pleaded guilty Thursday to a charge that he choked his mother and stabbed his stepfather last August, according to The Capital. Jesse Edward Chapman, 26, of the 400 block of Old Riverside Road in Brooklyn Park, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault, the Capital reported. According to a police report of the incident, at 1:40 a.m. Aug. 14, 2011, officers were called to the 400 block of Old Riverside Road after a report that a woman was screaming for help. When police arrived, they found a man with multiple lacerations and stab wounds to his body and a woman who had sustained minor injuries. Anne Arundel County police officers are asking the public for information on a suspicious man who approached a girl two times in the past week as she walked in Brooklyn Park. Police describe the suspect as being a white man in his 60s who was seen wearing a black ski mask, a black T-shirt with a red heart and arrow through the middle, white shorts and black slippers. Anne Arundel County police are trying to locate a Brooklyn Park woman who family members say has been missing since May 8. Officers spoke with a family member on May 13 who said Jessica Lynn Lee, 20, was last seen at the Shoppers Food Warehouse located in the 5700 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park, according to a police press release. Police said family members are concerned for her safety and well being. Lee is known to frequent the Brooklyn Park and Glen Burnie areas.
