Glen Burnie residents and Baltimore Washington Medical Center staff stopped by the hospital's new farmers market Friday morning and afternoon.
Earlier this week, Patch informed you of a new farmers market opening in Glen Burnie on Friday. I was very excited when I learned a farmers market was coming to Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC), so I decided to stop by to take a few pictures—and pick up a few things. The market opened at 11 a.m. and by 1 p.m. many of the vendors had sold out of their products. Luckily, I was able to pick up a steak and some eggs from Hanover's Copper Penny Farm. The markets will be held on the second Friday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind the Baltimore Washington Credit Union. On the first and third Saturdays of the month, the markets will be held across the street from BWMC from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Baltimore Washington Medical …

To coincide with NCAA March Madness, Baltimore Washington Medical Center has partnered with Bill Bateman's Bistro to launch "March Maintenance" in an effort to help area residents keep up with their annual physicals.

Men in their 20s should receive sexually transmitted disease, blood pressure and tobacco, drug and alcohol screenings annually, according to the bracket. Women in their 40s should be screened for diabetes, depression and weight, receive vaccines for tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis and receive heart attack and stroke prevention counseling each year, BWMC…
