Firefighters battled the blaze that damaged three townhomes in the Fox Chase community on Tuesday afternoon.
Three townhouses in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Glen Burnie were damaged in a three-alarm fire Tuesday afternoon—the second three-alarm fire in town within 12 hours. An earlier three-alarm fire had occurred at the Villages at Marley Station. In the Fox Chase fire, Anne Arundel County firefighters received a call at about 3:40 p.m. for a deck fire at 219 Fox Manor Lane, according to spokesman Lt. Keith Hamilton. Once on the scene, firefighters saw flames on the back deck of the townhouse had spread to the roof and wre damaging the townhouses on either side, Hamilton said. A three-alarm fire Tuesday morning left at least six apartments damaged in the Villages at Marley Station and displaced 11 people, fire officials said. No one was injured. Nearly 70 firefighters responded to a fire in a three-story apartment complex at 3:24 a.m. Tuesday, according to Anne Arundel County fire spokesman Lt. Keith Hamilton. When crews responded to 132 Faywood Ave. in the Villages at Marley Station, they arrived to find smoke and fire coming from some ground-level units. Firefighters initially received word that some people may have been trapped, so they worked to remove people from the building and then began to battle the blaze, Hamilton said.
