Video Earns Marley Elementary $1,000 Prize

A music video featuring Marley Elementary Students earned the school some money.

Marley Elementary School is $1,000 richer thanks to Baltimore Gas & Electric, the students and the initiative of a teacher at the Glen Burnie school. MES earned a bronze award as part of a BGE video contest, which encouraged schools from across central Maryland to submit their versions of the BGE "Wires Down" commercial. The MES video featured eight students with red-painted hands showing a "red alert" to avoid downed wires. "This project was a lot of fun and a tremendous educational experience for our students because it gives them real-word applications to the science we teach in our school every day," MES Principal Nina Lattimore said.
