Police say a Glen Burnie man was pepper sprayed after attempting to rob two people at a gas station.
Anne Arundel County police have arrested a man for allegedly attempting to rob a truck driver and gas station employee in Glen Burnie early Thursday. Shortly before 12:30 a.m., a man approached the clerk of the Mobil gas station, on the 7200 block of Ritchie Hwy., and implied to the store clerk that he had a gun. The attempted robbery was interrupted by the entrance of another person, according to police. The same suspect then approached a truck driver outside delivering fuel to the station, implied that he had a handgun, and demanded money. The victim complied, then the suspect ordered him to get more money out of the truck's cab, according to police. Concourses A and B at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport were evacuated after a strange odor and irritant were reported in the air, airport officials said.
A portion of BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport was evacuated Monday morning after an unusual odor and irritant—suspected to be pepper spray—was discovered in the air at the Concourse B security checkpoint, airport officials said. At about 8:45 a.m. Monday, Concourses A and B were evacuated of passengers and employees as a precaution after the odor was detected in the air, according to BWI spokesman Jonathan Dean. Seven Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees were transported to local hospitals due to the irritant in the air, Dean said. Brooklyn Park: Robbery A 25-year-old man said three males used pepper spray on him and stripped him of his clothes before robbing him Tuesday night as he waited for the bus on Ritchie Highway near Hammonds Lane in Brooklyn Park. Officers responded to the area of Camrose Avenue at about 11:55 p.m. Tuesday and spoke with a Pasadena man who said he had been robbed about 30 minutes earlier, according to a police report. The man told police that three males approached him and asked him if he had any drugs. When the man told the suspects he did not have drugs, one of them used pepper spray on him while the others stripped him of his shirt, pants and shoes. Any bets that some liberal judge lets him go on a technicality or other BS and he sues the truck driver and the driver's company and wins because he was cruelly assaulted since he did not really have a weapon. Only in America!   more ›
