Meeting Tuesday on North County Library Needs

Local leaders and library heads will discuss the improvements needed and a push for a new facility in northern Anne Arundel County.

Anne Arundel County Public Libraries is hosting the last town hall meeting Tuesday to discuss the needs of the library facilities. AACPL Executive Director Skip Auld will discuss the current state of the libraries, recommendations for expanded hours, new technology and the eventual replacement of the North County and Annapolis libraries. County councilman John Grasso (R-District 2) will be in attendance, along with AACPL heads, to discuss the needs and a timeline for upgrades. The meeting is open to the public and is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the North County Library, 1010 Eastway in Glen Burnie.

PHOTOS: South Africa Dances Through Glen Burnie

As part of their Black History Month program, the North County Area Library hosted an educational South African dance workshop Monday night provided by Lesole's Dance Program.

North County Area Branch Library's meeting room was full of people Monday night ready to celebrate Black History Month with a performance of South African dance. Mount Rainier-based Lesole's Dance Program presented "Dancing Through South Africa," a blend of traditional and historical movement mixed with modern and contemporary dance presented in an educational format, according to their website.
