WATCH: Man in Maryland May Have Winning Powerball Ticket from Arizona

A man in a Maryland gas station was caught on tape celebrating after examining a Powerball ticket.

UPDATE: 12:20 p.m. - NBC4 is reporting the man may be from Chillum, MD. In a strange local connection, a man in Maryland might be the owner of the winning Powerball ticket sold in Arizona. According to a CBS report, footage recorded inside an Upper Marlboro gas station may have caught the winner checking his Powerball ticket for the first time, discovering it's a winner and then showing it off to co-workers and store employees. In the video, the man, dressed in a neon-yellow jumpsuit, walks into the gas station examines the ticket and becomes visibly surprised and excited. Lottery: Powerball Jackpot Increased Again to $550 Million

Lottery officials made the announcement early Wednesday afternoon.

This is not a repeat from yesterday. I know it wasn't so long ago that we reported to you that an already record-setting Powerball jackpot had been increased from $450 million to $500 million, but Wednesday morning lottery officials announced the jackpot had increased again. A jackpot winner in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing will pull down a $550 million prize with a $360.2 million dollar cash option. Since Maryland began participating in the multi-state lottery game back in January 2010, two Powerball jackpot winner have been sold in the state. Powerball Lottery Increases to $500 Million Jackpot

Maryland Lottery officials announced the increase Tuesday morning for the drawing.

The jackpot for Wednesday night's Powerball drawing was already the largest in the game's history at $425 million but lottery officials announced that the prize pool had increased on Tuesday morning. Wednesday's drawing will now be for a $500 million jackpot with a $327 million cash option, according to an email from Maryland Lottery spokeswoman Erica Palmisano. The news comes after 15 straight Powerball drawings without a winner. Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $214 Million

The next drawing is set for Saturday night.

The jackpot for Saturday's Powerball drawing has climbed to $214 million after Wednesday's drawing failed to produce a winner, lottery officials report. The multi-jurisdictional lottery is played in 42 states—including Maryland and Virginia—plus Washington, DC, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was almost a year ago that a Maryland resident last won a Powerball jackpot. On Christmas Eve 2011, a Cecil County couple's winning ticket brought them a $128.8 million dollar prize. Glen Burnie Man Not Mega Millions Winner

Michael Dronet, of Glen Burnie, said he was tricked into believing he had one of the three winners tickets for last week's Mega Millions drawing, according to The Baltimore Sun.

A Glen Burnie man said he was tricked into believing that he was one of three winners of last week's Mega Millions drawing, according to The Baltimore Sun. After his mother told a Mississippi TV station her son was one of the winners of the $656 million jackpot, Michael Dronet said his friend tricked him with a fake ticket. Maryland State Lottery announced early Saturday the record-breaking Mega Millions jackpot ticket was sold at a Baltimore County retailer. The ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store in the 8000 block of Liberty Road in Milford Mill.
