Wawa celebrated its grand opening with a hoagie building contest between police officers and fire fighters.
Wawa celebrated its grand opening Friday morning with a little bit of friendly competition between the Anne Arundel County police and fire departments. Police officers and fire fighters raced to see which team could build more subs in three minutes. In the end, the fire fighters walked away victorious, earning them $1,000 for the department. The police didn't walk away empty handed though, earning the department a $500 check. "Our grand opening celebration is a wonderful way to show our support, bring the community together and provide the Glen Burnie community with the Wawa products it loves," said Chief Information Officer, Suzanne Keenan.
