A 50-year-old man was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma in non-life threatening condition Tuesday afternoon.
Medics transported a 50-year-old man to the hospital suffering from several cuts to his body, according to fire officials. Anne Arundel County police and fire officials responded to the 800 block of East Seagrove Road in Glen Burnie at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for a reported medical incident, according to fire spokesman Lt. Steve Thompson. The man was suffering from several cuts to his body and lost a lot of blood, Thompson said. At one point the SWAT team was called to the scene, but the reasoning was unclear, police spokesman Lt. Frank Tewey said. "I don't know why the SWAT team ended up out there," he said. The man was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore with non-life threatening injuries, Thompson said.

A Brooklyn Park resident was hurt in a house fire in the 4500 block of Ritchie Highway on Monday.
An unidentified male was transported to Bayview Medical Center with serious, life-threatening injuries Monday after a Brooklyn Park house fire, officials said. Anne Arundel County fire and rescue workers responded to a blaze at a single-family home in the 4500 block of Ritchie Highway at about noon Monday, according to fire spokesman Capt. James Rostek. It took firefighters 20 minutes to get the blaze under control. Rostek said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

A 23-year-old woman was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious injuries after a motor vehicle accident Thursday evening, fire officials said. The fire department responded at about 8:10 p.m. Thursday to a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of River Road and West Nursery Road in Linthicum. Firefighters found a car that had gone down an embankment, according to Anne Arundel County fire spokesman Capt. James Rostek. The woman suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries, Rostek said.

In separate incidents, three men were arrested in connection with the robbery of a man in Glen Burnie on Saturday and a 50-year-old man was taken to the Shock Trauma Center with a life-threatening head injury on Sunday.
Glen Burnie: Burglary arrests Anne Arundel County police arrested two Glen Burnie 14-year-old boys after security personnel reportedly saw three suspects in the process of stealing bicycles from the store Friday night. The teens were charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, theft and destruction of property and released into their parents custody. Police continue to determine the identity of the third suspect. Glen Burnie: Accident Firefighters and medics responded to the area of Route 10 south and Furnace Branch Drive in Glen Burnie where a car had reportedly rolled over on the highway, according to Anne Arundel County fire spokesman Chief Michael Cox. Four people suffered minor injuries. They were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Glen Burnie: Fire Firefighters were dispatched to a home fire at the 100 block of Mountain Road in Glen Burnie at 6:02 p.m. Sunday where crews found smoke coming from the basement of a one-story house, Cox said. It took 20 firefighters about 20 minutes to put the one-alarm fire out. The cause is under investigation but is believed to be accidental, Cox said. The fire caused about $30,000 in damage. …

Fire officials determined that a Thursday morning fire at Windbrooke Apartments in Glen Burnie was intentionally set and are investigating it as an arson.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department is asking anyone with information about a Thursday morning fire, which officials have determined was intentionally set, at Windbrooke Apartments in Glen Burnie to come forward. The fire took place in the 7900 block of Silent Shadow Court just after 7 a.m., according to a fire department press release. Firefighters discovered a small fire in the second-floor storage area that was kept under control by the building's sprinkler system, according to the release. The firefighters got the fire under control and investigators determined the fire to be incendiary or intentionally set. I remember when I was a teenager and had my bicycle stolen from the parking lot of a store when it was locked up. The thieves had no clue that the only way for me to get the 3 miles to work was on a bicycle.
