Toddler Among Two Killed in Curtis Creek Beltway Crash
A woman drove the wrong way on Interstate 695, causing a fatal accident, police said.
A head-on collision Sunday night on Interstate 695, near the Curtis Creek drawbridge in south Baltimore, claimed two lives, including a Dundalk woman and White Marsh toddler. Victoria DeAngelo, 21, drove her Chevrolet Cobalt the wrong direction on the outer loop of I-695 at about 10 p.m. Sunday. She then crashed into a Hyundai Santa Fe at 10:01 p.m., according to Sgt. Jonathan Green, a Maryland Transportation Authority Police spokesman. DeAngelo, who is from Darlington and was living in Dundalk, was pronounced dead at the scene, Green confirmed. After watching the news I think I know how this happened... Off Fort Smallwood she made a right onto Quarantine road to get onto 695 (where they are doing bridge construction). Once onto Quarantine road, instead of going OVER 695 and making a left, she turned *LEFT* AT THE STOP SIGN thus getting onto 695 going the wrong way.
