Police charged a 19-year-old with dealing drugs after undercover officers purchased marijuana from him in Brooklyn Park.
Anne Arundel County police charged a 19-year-old Brooklyn Park man with selling marijuana to undercover officers Monday night. It was the second time in two weeks that police have charged teens with dealing drugs in Brooklyn Park. Undercover officers purchased crack cocaine from two teenagers–one a juvenile–on April 3. At approximately 11 p.m. Monday night, two undercover detectives, responding to complaints of drug dealing, successfully purchased $20 worth of marijuana from a man in the area of Church Street and Disney Avenue. As a result, police arrested Jordon William Dasher, 19, of Brooklyn Park, and charged him with distributing marijuana. Police found drugs, a handgun and paraphernalia while carrying out a drug warrant Monday night.
Anne Arundel County police arrested a Glen Burnie man after finding drugs, paraphernalia and a handgun during a drug search Monday night. Police arrested Demetrius Travon Brown, 27, of Glen Burnie, after officers with the department's tactical patrol and narcotics teams carried out a drug warrant at a residence on McGuirk Drive about 9 p.m. Police seized 1.96 grams of crack cocaine, 6.28 grams of marijuana, a .32-caliber handgun, drug paraphernalia and $267 in cash. The bill would categorize synthetic marijuana in the same group as marijuana, mescaline, and LSD.
Delegate Cathy Vitale (R-Severna Park) is introducing a bill Tuesday that would give law enforcement a better grip on the spread of synthetic cannabinoids, commonly called "spice." Vitale's House Bill 482 cracks down on how the substance is categorized by police, labeling it a Schedule I drug—the same category as marijuana, mescaline, and LSD. The Severna Park delegate has called spice an epidemic, saying action needed to be taken now to prevent its spread. Her criticism is joined by 15 other delegates who are listed as co-sponsors on the bill. Anne Arundel County police arrested three people after a finding drugs, guns and paraphernalia while carrying out a warrant in Glen Burnie on Thursday night. Shortly after 11 p.m., officers entered a residence on the 300 block of Dublin Dr. and seized .78 grams of suspected cocaine, 20 alprazolam pills, a loaded 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun, a rifle and drug paraphernalia. Police arrested Tricia Erbe, 41, William Nathaniel Hogan, 27, and Darla Jeanne Daugherty, 28, all of Glen Burnie, and charged them with several drug offenses. Suspected heroin and suspected crack cocaine were discovered.
Anne Arundel County police arrested five people in a Brooklyn Park home Tuesday morning while serving a narcotics warrant. Shortly after 9 a.m., police entered a home on the 900 block of Victory Avenue and found 5.63 grams of suspected heroin and .20 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Police arrest four people and make several drug charges against three.
Anne Arundel County police found several types of drugs and guns while carrying out a drug warrant Thursday night in Glen Burnie. At approximately 10 p.m., officers carried out a narcotics warrant at a home on the 100 block of Queen Anne Road after "numerous" complaints were made to authorities, according to police. Officers arrested four people inside the home and seized more than 5 grams of crack cocaine, .72 grams of heroin, two shotguns, a handgun, a rifle and drug paraphernalia. Police arrested a Glen Burnie mother and son Thursday night during a search that turned up marijuana, crack cocaine and heroin. Anne Arundel County Police Department's tactical narcotics unit carried out the search warrant at 205 Hollins Ferry Road South. Police arrested the two residents and seized drugs, cash, drug paraphernalia and a handgun. A man was charged with possession, intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Anne Arundel County police stopping a Millington man for a traffic violation discovered more than $900 worth of marijuana in his car, according to a department statement. Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers stopped a vehicle on Hospital Drive, near Crain Highway, and smelled what they believed to be marijuana. Police searched the vehicle and found 45.2 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The officers arrested the driver, Thomas Leo Cope, 31, of Millington, MD. Anne Arundel County police arrested a Brooklyn Park woman after confiscating more than $2,000 worth of marijuana from a residence while carrying out a drug warrant Thursday night. At approximately 10 p.m. Thursday, narcotics officers entered a residence on the 300 block of West Riverview Road and found 27 bags of drugs—totaling almost 72 grams of "high grade" marijuana—along with drug paraphernalia and $1,040 in cash, according to police.
