Police Find Cocaine, Marijuana, Crack in Brooklyn Park Drug Bust

One man was arrested after officers carried out the drug warrant.

Anne Arundel County police arrested one man and seized several types of drugs while carrying out a warrant in Brooklyn Park on Thursday. At approximately 5 p.m., patrol officers and members of the narcotics team entered a room at the Budget Plaza Motel, on the 4800 block of Ritchie Highway, to execute a drug warrant. Police seized .35 grams of crack cocaine, 4.83 grams of "suspected" powder cocaine, marijuana, $280 in cash and drug paraphernalia. Police arrested Ricardo Henry Spears, 33, of Brooklyn park, and charged him with several drug-related offenses. Glen Burnie Crash Leads to Multi-State Drug Bust

Authorities said money was sewn into handbags and flown with women across the country as payment for drug shipments.

Eighteen people–including 10 Anne Arundel County residents–have been charged in connection with the operation of a large, multi-state, drug trafficking organization that spanned from Maryland to California. “The Drug Enforcement Administration, working in partnership with both federal and local law enforcement, including the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland, are bringing to justice 18 members of a narcotic trafficking organization operating throughout the United States,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Brisolari of DEA’s Washington Division in a press release. “As a result of this investigation, numerous properties, vehicles and bank accounts have been seized totalling millions of dollars.” The investigation …

Pipe Bombs, Drugs Found in Glen Burnie Home

Police say that detectives also found black powder pistols and seized 26 marijuana plants worth more than $18,000.

A man faces multiple drug-related charges after police said detectives searched a Glen Burnie home on Thursday and found marijuana, explosive devices and black powder pistols. According to Anne Arundel County police, detectives from the northern district executed a narcotics search warrant in the 100 block of Georgia Avenue NW in Glen Burnie on Thursday just before noon. Police discovered explosive-making materials and two explosive devices (pipe bombs) so they notified the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and Annapolis City Bomb Squad. Three black powder pistols were also in the home, according to a police press release. The fire department recovered the items and police said the public was not at risk or in any danger from the devices…

Drug Search Results in 4 Arrests

At two homes in the Point Pleasant area, police seized more than $5,000 worth of drugs.

Police arrested four men on drug-related charges after searching two homes in the Point Pleasant area on Tuesday afternoon. Anne Arundel County police said the search took place in the 1000 block of 1st Street at about 2 p.m. Tuesday and detectives seized marijuana, marijuana plants, hashish, paraphernalia and a Chevrolet Impala car. Patrick Cory Rhodes, 18, of the 7800 block of Leymar Road in Glen Burnie; Chase Douglas Hynson, 23, of the 1000 block of 1st Street in Glen Burnie; Jacob Ryan Qualls, 23, 7600 Marcy Dr. in Glen Burnie; and Anthony William Kozak, 33, of the 1000 block of 1st Street were each charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
