A staple of the community, Ann's Dari-Creme celebrated 60 years of business in 2010. A small but classic menu, servers at Ann's never write down orders. "You won't even see any pens or paper behind the counter," said assistant manager Trish Ludlow. Legend is that when Marley Station Mall was scheduled to be built, customers rallied behind the store and protested its desctruction -- and won.

I haven't been to Ann's for over ten years, stationed overseas, but I keep telling everyone I meet that if they are ever in MD to find Ann's and eat there. I'm craving a double footlong with lettuce, tomato, mustard, chili, with fries and a shake!

Anne's is an absolute institution. Their cheesesteaks, shakes,a nd footlong hotdogs are so crave-able that I have driven half an hour just to get one, and enjoy it as I sat on the teeny patch of grass around the parking lot. When I was little, I got a thrill out of watching the fries flying in arounf behind the counter as the staff just shouted orders back and forth- they could throw those fries with perfect aim!
I believe the story is that the developers of Marley Station wanted to buy the land that Anne's resides on, and being the business savvy folks they are, Anne's refused to sell. This is a blessing to us all! I need a cheesesteak just thinking about it!
