Artie and Melody Are the Pets of the Week

Artie and Melody are the Pets of the Week.

This week's Pets of the Week at Baltimore Humane Society are Artie and Melody. Here's what they each have to say--

Hello. My name is Artie and I was brought to BHS by a nice person who took me in because they saw me in the woods and realized I had probably been living there. The nice person couldn't keep me because she already had 3 dogs of her own and knew that BHS would find me a good home. I am very barky in my run so if you want to see me it's best to have a staff member take me out of the cage.  Out of my run, I will be fine once my timidness goes away. I haven't really played with a lot of toys here, but the staff has been giving me stuffed animals and squeaky toys.... and they put sweaters on me when I am cold. Since no information is really known about me, if you have other dogs or cats we’ll do a dog intro or cat test to make sure everyone gets along. I am not completely house-trained yet so my new family will have to help me with that. When I get nervous or stressed, you will hear me snort or start to do a reverse sneeze type of sound, but don't be alarmed; I just thought you should know. It would be best for me to go to a home where the children are at least 12 years old and up. Please fill out an application first if you want to meet me. I can’t wait to meet you!

Hello. My name is Melody and I was originally adopted from BHS back in 2008. I was recently brought back because my owner's family developed allergies to me. I am a very nice girl who will warm up to you quickly and let you pet me. At 14 pounds, though, I’m a pretty big girl so being carried is uncomfortable for me. I have lived with other cats before, but have never been around children. If you have any, please bring them with you so we can meet. My favorite toy in my other home was a laser pointer so if you adopt me I would be very happy if you got me one. I hope to see you soon at BHS. Thank you.

The adoption fee for Artie is $112.50 (1/2 off special) and $105 for Melody. Plus get a $5 off Hills Science Diet pet food coupon!
