The Friends of Quiet Waters Park is a nonprofit organization that organizes volunteers to support the operation of the park. Volunteers are needed Oct. 24 to 28 to help with the installation of a Rainscaping Education Station (RES): two volunteers are needed to help with building the RES, two are needed to pave a walkway, and four are needed to help with plantings. Harvest for the Hungry Food Drive, throughout Anne Arundel County
In addition to drop-off locations at public schools through Anne Arundel County, the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County in Annapolis is a drop-off site for collecting nonperishable food and plastic/paper items (no glass, please). Food drive is ongoing through Nov. 4. Collected items are donated to the Anne Arundel County Food and Resource Bank. Cash donations also accepted.
