A Glen Burnie 7-Eleven owner accidentally by leaving his bank bag on top of his car, according to Maryland State Police (MSP).
Now his friends are rallying around the man to help him recover the money that was lost, according to an event created on Facebook.
Jennifer Parsley is asking the community to stop by the store, located at 7112 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to make small donations.
Some of the money, which the store owner said he saw scattered along Maryland Route 100 and Interstate 97 in Glen Burnie, has been returned, Parsley wrote on Facebook.
Parsley said she hopes others will follow suit.
"I'm trying to get the message out [there] to people that if they found some of the money and they are afraid to turn it in to the police, they can call me and I will meet them with NO questions asked at all," Parsley wrote in a message to Patch. "Or they could stop by the 7-11 store tomorrow ... between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. where I will have a drop box and they could place it in there as well."
Those who cannot drop off their donation at the store Sunday but still wish to help can contact Parsley at 443-960-0243.
