Two Hospitalized After Fire in Linthicum Home

The two-alarm blaze brought 48 firefighters to the scene.

Two people were hospitalized Sunday night after a house caught fire in Linthicum.

Division Chief Michael Cox of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said units responded at 9:08 p.m. to a fire at the 6400 block of Wilben Road.

Crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the basement. It took 48 firefighters about 30 minutes to get the blaze under control. The two-alarm fire prompted response from the Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City and Fort Meade Fire Departments.

A 51-year-old woman and 54-year-old man were home at the time. Both were evaluated at the scene and taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center by ambulance to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and no damage estimate was immediately available.
