The woman who hired three men to kill a Glen Burnie dentist in 2006 had her life sentence reduced to 40 years for testifying against her cousin, who was found guilty of the murder, reports The Baltimore Sun.
Shontay Joyner Hickman, 38, testified against her cousin, Dante Jeter, who was found guilty of the 2006 murder last May and sentenced to two life terms without parole.
Hickman's sentence reduction comes in a sealed plea agreement that led to her admitting to the plot to kill her employer, Dr. Albert Wooho Ro, after he found she stole $17,000 of insurance reimbursement checks.
Hickman said she hired Jeter to kill Ro for $1,000, and he carried out the deal with two other suspects, who are still at-large.
