Police Report Robbery, Assault in Brooklyn Park

The incident reportedly occurred early Monday morning and police were unable to locate the suspect.

A man told police he was assaulted and robbed early Monday morning in Brooklyn Park.

According to a press release from Anne Arundel County police, officers from the Northern District responded to the 5600 block of Ritchie Highway just after 5 a.m. Monday.

Police said the male victim told officers that he was walking to a convenience store at the corner of Ritchie Highway and Church Street when a man struck him with an unknown object. The man reportedly took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and fled the area. Police were unable to locate the man.

The injured victim was taken to Harbor Hospital in Baltimore for treatment, according to police.
