Police: Juveniles Use AK-47 in Home Invasion

Police say that when four juveniles entered a Glen Burnie home Sunday night—one armed with an AK-47 assault rifle—the victims fought with the suspects, recovering the gun.

Glen Burnie victims took matters into their own hands when four juveniles entered their home Sunday night—one armed with an AK-47 assault rifle—and fought the gun away from the suspects, police said.

Anne Arundel County police are searching for the fourth juvenile suspect in connection with the home invasion robbery after arresting three Sunday. They are not releasing details about the juvenile suspects.

On Sunday at approximately 10:54 p.m., officers from Northern District responded to the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue SW in Glen Burnie for a call of a fight in progress.

According to a police press release, officers arrived and spoke with three victims who said four suspects entered the home through the back door—one armed with the AK-47. A second suspect demanded money.

Police said one of the victims saw an opportunity and attacked the suspect holding the gun, knocking it to the ground. The victims began to fight the suspects and one of the victims recovered the AK-47 when the juveniles fled the scene, police said.

Police stopped one of the juveniles a short distance from the scene. Further investigation revealed the identity of the remaining suspects and police stopped a vehicle and arrested two more juveniles.

According to the press release, the suspects will be charged with the following: robbery, armed robbery, second-degree assault and weapons charges.
