Police Charge 10, Seize Cash During Drug Busts

More than $2,700 worth of drugs was seized from local hotels, according to police.

Anne Arundel County police arrested and charged eight people with “various drug-related offenses” between Jan. 4-10, according to a press release. They seized more than $2,700 worth of drugs and about $6,200 cash in four separate incidents. Police did not release information on two additional arrests. 

Jan. 4
Rodney Burnopp, 20, of the 100 block of Gambrills Road in Severn was arrested Jan. 4 at about 3 p.m. in his Budget Plaza Motel hotel room in the 4800 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. Police said they found 0.51 grams of heroin worth about $150, $324 cash and “drug distribution paraphernalia.” He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to online court records.

Police also said they arrested two others but did not release additional information.

Jan. 6
Damion D. Thompson, 27, of the 4000 block of Alameda Place in Baltimore and Wanda K. Monroe, 41, of the 5100 block of Raynor Avenue in Linthicum were arrested at about 9 a.m. Jan. 6 on the first floor of the Motel 6, which is listed as Monroe’s home address. About 3.89 grams of crack cocaine worth about $419, five Percocet pills worth about $25, $835 cash, “drug distribution paraphernalia” and a 1999 Pontiac van were seized during the incident, according to the release.

According to online court records, Thompson faces two charges each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Monroe also faces two charges each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of paraphernalia in addition to possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute.

Also on Jan. 6, Leroy Antonio Sherrod, 29, of the 200 block of West Meadow Road in Baltimore and Melissa Tregoe, 22, of the 1400 block of Gordon Drive in Glen Burnie were arrested at about 2 p.m. on the first floor of the Park Plaza Motel in the 4900 block of Brooklyn Park. Police seized 2.94 grams of marijuana, “a trace amount of heroin [and] crack cocaine,” $2,453 cash and drug distribution paraphernalia," according to the release.

Sherrod and Tregoe both face two possession of a controlled dangerous substance charges, one marijuana possession charge and five possession of paraphernalia charges, according to online court records.

Jan. 10
Willie Brown Meekins Jr., 43, of the 3700 block of 2nd Street in Baltimore, Dreama Lynn Harris, 35, of the 600 block of Pontiac Avenue in Baltimore and Marcia Brooks, 56, of the 600 block of Pontiac Avenue in Baltimore were arrested Tuesday at about 10 p.m. at the Budget Plaza Motel in the 4800 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. Police said they seized 15.96 grams of crack cocaine worth about $1,755, 10.95 grams of heroin worth about $312, $2,590 cash and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

Meekins faces two possession of a controlled dangerous substance charges and a marijuana possession charge along with one paraphernalia possession charge and two counts of narcotic possession with intent to distribute. Harris faces two possession of a controlled dangerous substance charges and a marijuana possession charge along with two paraphernalia possession charges and two counts of narcotic possession with intent to distribute. Brooks' specific charges were not immediately available, online court records indicate.
