Severn Man Faces Armed Robbery, Kidnapping Charges

No one was injured when a man reportedly carjacked a taxi driver and took him along while he robbed a Glen Burnie store at gunpoint, said police.

A Severn man faces multiple charges in connection with an armed robbery Friday night in Glen Burnie, according to Anne Arundel County police.

Christopher Michael Fay, 29, of the 8200 block of Quarterfield Road in Severn was charged with armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, armed carjacking, kidnapping and theft less than $100, according to online court records.

Fay reportedly got into a taxi cab in Severn around 7:54 p.m. Friday. A 24-year-old taxi driver for A.A County Cab Connection told police Fay pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. The driver told police he complied and proceeded to drive Fay to various locations, including the Dash In located at 7845 Quarterfield Rd. in Glen Burnie.

Officers responded at about 9:08 p.m. Friday for a reported armed robbery at the Dash In. A cashier told police that Fay and the driver entered the store and Fay pulled out a handgun, demanding a customer's wallet but the customer did not comply.

Fay allegedly pointed the handgun at the cashier and demanded he open the register but the cashier refused. Police said Fay stole some cigarettes and left the store with the driver in a taxi.

According to the release, Fay eventually left the cab and the driver reported the incident. Officers searched the area and soon located Fay at a local fast food restaurant and took him into custody without incident.

A gun? I thought no one was allowed to have guns in MD. Oh yeah I forgot, that would be no LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS can have a gun. Gang-bangers and addicts can have all the guns they want.

Chris was a troubled boy from a broken abusive home. He lost his insurance and lost his medication for mental problems which led him on the binge. He was clean for 18 months up til then. He is n was a addict , not saying what he did was right safe or acceptable but he was a good boy unless on drugs, the gun was a air soft pistol unloaded... He would never hurt no1 ,that's why no1 was hurt, it's not in his nature. Just saying he isn't a monster but a drug addict from a f'd up family n f'd childhood if he didn't lose his insurance n medication this wouldn't of happened.

I'm the taxi driver that was robbed. I find it both hilarious and disturbing that several people are quick to defend that idiot. Forgive my bluntness, but did YOU have a gun pointed at your head? Did YOU have to drive him around for over an hour, not knowing whether you were going to live or die? Did you lose your money AND your gas, while listening to him smoke/snort it away in the back seat? NO YOU DIDN'T. I don't care WHAT his past is like, I don't care what kind of person you CLAIM he is. The bottom line is HE DID HARM ME. Maybe not physically, but mentally. HE COMMITTED A CRIME, AND DESERVES TO ROT IN PRISON FOR IT.
