A Pasadena man was arrested after Anne Arundel Police say he made up a robbery report.

Officers were called to the area of Ritchie Highway and 16th Avenue in Brooklyn Park Tuesday morning to meet with the alleged victim, a 47-year-old man who said an unknown suspect took money from him at gunpoint.

The man told police the suspect ran through an open field toward the Brookwood Road area. A search by Anne Arundel officers, K-9 and the Baltimore Police Department’s Aviation unit could not find a suspect.

Further investigation showed that the alleged robbery did not occur, police said Friday. The alleged victim admitted that the robbery never took place.

Allen Edward Taylor, 47, of 46 Carrol Road in Pasadena, was arrested and charged with making a false statement to police officers.
