Glen Burnie Fire Report: 2 Accidents, Home Fire

The fire department handled two accidents and a home fire in Glen Burnie on Sunday.

Glen Burnie: Accident

Firefighters and medics responded to the area of Route 10 south and Furnace Branch Drive in Glen Burnie where a car had reportedly rolled over on the highway, according to Anne Arundel County fire spokesman Chief Michael Cox.

Glen Burnie: Fire

Firefighters were dispatched to a home fire at the 100 block of Mountain Road in Glen Burnie at 6:02 p.m. Sunday where crews found smoke coming from the basement of a one-story house, Cox said.

It took 20 firefighters about 20 minutes to put the one-alarm fire out. The cause is under investigation but is believed to be accidental, Cox said. The fire caused about $30,000 in damage. No one was home at the time and no one was hurt.

Glen Burnie: Collision

Crews responded at 6:59 p.m. Sunday to a report of a car crash at the 6900 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Ferndale, Cox said.

They transported three people to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by ambulance with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The victims were a 30-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman.
