Anne Arundel County Police have charged a Millersville man with robbing a Glen Burnie bank after images of the suspect shared on social media led to a tip from the public.
Authorities on Thursday released surveillance footage of a man suspected in Thursday morning’s robbery of the TD Bank located in the 7900 block of Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. The tipster recognized the suspect from the images posted on Facebook.
The robbery was reported at 10 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived they were told a male suspect entered the bank and showed a note to the teller that implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect.
Authorities said the suspect then fled the bank on foot in a southerly direction. A search by uniformed and K-9 personnel failed to locate the suspect.
Police officers located the suspect in the area of Chalet Drive in Millersville about 4 a.m. Friday. Gregory Paul Harring, 27, of 8295 Pond Court, Millersville, was taken into custody without incident and has since been charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, and theft.
