Anne Arundel County Police officers arrested three people Friday night after two men were seen fighting on Old Stage Road.
Andrew Joseph Cook, 21, was charged with first- and second-degree assault. Trinette Marie Young, 38, was charged with obstructing and hindering, disorderly conduct and failing to obey a lawful order. Charges against a 47-year-old man were pending as of Monday morning, according to a police press release. All three are Glen Burnie residents.
At about 9 p.m. Friday, bike patrol officers witnessed a fight in the 300 block of Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie. As they approached the fight they saw Cook standing over the 47-year-old man and threatening him with a baseball bat, police said. The officers immediately arrested Cook without incident.
The 47-year-old man was treated on the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department and EMS personnel for injuries to his upper body and taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore as a precaution.
Through preliminary investigation, officers learned that the two men know each other and verbally argued before the incident escalated to a physical fight. A witness told officers that the 47-year-old man hit Cook with a golf club before Cook retaliated with the bat.
While officers arrested the 47-year-old man, his girlfriend, Young, approached the officers, “became disorderly and began to obstruct and hinder the officers’ investigation and arrest,” according to the release. She was arrested on the scene.
