Drivers in the Ferndale area should look out for utility crews and a new traffic pattern this weekend at the intersection of Dorsey Road (Maryland Route 176) and Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard (Maryland Route 648.)
Workers from Baltimore Gas & Electric will be installing a 16-inch gas main at the intersection. Crews will be on site overnight from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, and then from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
SHA will deactivate the traffic signals while work is going on, and police or flagpersons will direct traffic. Drivers will not be allowed to make left turns from northbound Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard to westbound Dorsey Road. Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard will be reduced to one lane approaching the intersection. Eastbound Dorsey Road and westbound 8th Avenue will be reduced to two lanes approaching the intersection.
Traffic signals will be operational at the end of each work day. Those who have questions about this project work may contact the SHA District 5 Office in Annapolis at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603.
