Weekend Planner: Halloween Race For The Cure

Activities in the Glen Burnie area this weekend include races at Big Vanilla and kids' Halloween-themed bingo.

 

Get some extra mileage out of your Halloween costume this weekend by donning your disguise and heading out to one of these events happening around the area. There are opportunities for runners, kids, adults and even pets to get into the spirit.

1. Zumbathon for St. Jude's at Big Vanilla Athletic Club

Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday at Big Vanilla Athletic Club, Pasadena

Why Go: It's a great chance to get fit for a good cause.

Cost: $5

2. Halloween 5K at Big Vanilla

Where/When: 8 a.m., Sunday, Big Vanilla, Arnold

Why Go: The race begins at Big Vanilla in Arnold with the course running through Anne Arundel Community College. Participants must be 13 or older and will be entered into a raffle for prizes from the event sponsors. The proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Kid-friendly activities will be at the race start/finish line.

Cost: $28

3. Kids Halloween Bingo

Where/When: noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Hall, Severna Park 

Why Go: Put your outfit to work with a Halloween-themed costume contest, haunted lab, prizes and crafts

Cost: Three cards for $8
