• In the third reported incident in North County this month, police used a Taser on a man who allegedly was running partially naked on Crain Highway in Glen Burnie and resisted arrest.
• Chief James Teare Sr. announced his retirement and a new chief, Maj. Pamela R. Davis, was named the new acting police chief for the Anne Arundel County Police Department. A criminal investigation into Teare is being dropped by the state as a result of his retirement.
