Patch caught up with Glen Burnie High School French teacher Charles Day in December.

Patch stopped him to ask Five Questions.

Glen Burnie Patch: How long have you been in education?
Charles Day: 40 years. I've always taught at Glen Burnie High School.

Glen Burnie Patch: How did you decide to go into education?
Day: I decided many years ago. I was taught by many fine teachers at Marley Junior High. After my experience there, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.

Glen Burnie Patch: How did you decide to teach at the high school level?
Day: I just felt more comfortable with older kids. Plus foreign language is very rarely offered at the elementary level, unfortunately.

Glen Burnie Patch: Where did you go to high school? College? What degree do you hold?
Day: I went to Glen Burnie High School [and] Frostburg [State University], with a degree in French. Then, I went to Towson [University] for a master's in reading. I taught reading and English in the past.

Glen Burnie Patch: What do you do in your free time?
Day: I'm involved in my church—St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Pasadena. And I volunteer at the Sports Legends Museum as a docent.
