A Baltimore man is in custody for allegedly invading a hotel room and robbing two people at gun point in Glen Burnie on Saturday afternoon, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Shortly before 4 p.m., a man knocked on the door of a hotel room at the Glen Burnie Hampton Inn, on the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway, and told the two guests inside that he was with the maintenance staff. The man entered the room and displayed a gun, then demanded money.
After an initial struggle, the victims–one 70-year-old man and one 70-year-old woman–eventually turned over some cash to the man.
A hotel employee saw a man exiting the hotel on foot, in the direction of the Days Inn, across Ritchie Highway. Police broadcasted a lookout for the suspect, and he was eventually located, hiding underneath a box truck in the Days Inn parking lot.
The suspect was positively identified and a search of the suspect turned up money and a handgun.
Police arrested Rodney Sylvester Wiggins, 26, of Baltimore. The department did not specify what charges Wiggins may face.

Not surprising but what is surprising is the guys criminal record. Several charges of armed robbery and theft amongst other things. When is Maryland going to wake up and start putting these criminals behind bars?
