Photo: Use Your Credit Card at the Vending Machine
Have you used your credit card to buy a Coke from the vending machine in Marley Station mall yet?
For years I've said that someone needed to invent the technology that allowed consumers to use a credit card at a vending machine, especially since I never carry cash.
About a year ago I visited my alma mater Spelman College in Atlanta—home to Coca-Cola headquarters—and saw that the machines now allowed people to purchased a beverage using a card. Finally!
I was so jealous that the technology hadn't seemed to make it up the coast. Imagine how happy I was Sunday when I wandered into Marley Station mall to get my nails done and do a little shopping and spotted one of the fancy new Coke machines!
Did you notice the addition? Have you used a credit card machine? Is it silly to use a credit (or check) card for a $1.50 purchase at a vending machine?

Criminals are using credit card skimmers nowadays. I would be leary of using a credit card in the vending machine.

That is a good point John. I would argue that vending machines could be at a greater risk for skimmers due to the fact that vending machines currently are rarely equipped with cameras, as ATMs normally are. I would encourage everyone to surf up on latest technology and images of skimmers. Because knowing is half the battle.
