The Glen Burnie Gophers will face off against the Chesapeake Cougars Wednesday afternoon in the state's softball regional semifinal.
The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at Chesapeake, 4798 Mountain Rd. in Pasadena.
Glen Burnie beat the South River Seahawks 3-2 on Monday. Chesapeake ended North County's playoff run on Monday, defeating the Lady Knights 12-6, according to the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) website.
The winner will play either Severna Park or Broadneck, who also play Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Two Glen Burnie students—pitcher Alex Moos and shortstop Melanie Slowinski—made the 2012 Anne Arundel County Coaches' All-County softball first team, according to the Maryland Gazette. Two more Glen Burnie students, third baseman Caitlyn Kirby and outfielder Jessica Robinson, made the coaches second team.
Chesapeake has three first-team and three second-team players on the list.
