The Lady Knights and the Lady Gophers battle for local bragging rights on Wednesday at North County.

Lady Gophers head coach Doug Schreiber has three returning all-county players including junior pitcher Melanie Slowinski and infielder Caitlyn Kirby, a sophomore. Cara Woods, a senior infielder, was a second-team all-county player last year.

Returning for North County are sophomore Brittany Jones, juniors Krystin Elliott and Kate Helmick and senior Ashley Deltuva.

“Our biggest contributor this season will be Brittany Jones,” said North County head coach Tommy Thompson earlier this season. “If she stays healthy and injury free, we should have a very good season.”
