A Glen Burnie man admitted to strangling his great aunt sometime between Monday night and early Tuesday, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Police responded to a residence on the 300 block of Gatewater Court for a reported death. Officers found a woman, later identified as Dianna Lee Fitzwater, 62, dead in the living room of the home.
The two other occupants of the residence reported that they awoke at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and discovered Fitzwater unresponsive.
A crew transported Fitzwater to the medical examiner's office in Baltimore, where on Wednesday it was determined she died from asphyxiation in a homicide.
On Wednesday, police interviewed Brandon Zachary Duncan, 22, who was one of the occupants who originally reported the death. At this time, Duncan admitted to strangling Fitzwater, who is his great aunt.
Police issued a warrant for Duncan's arrest, charging him with first-degree murder. He is currently being held under guard at a local hospital for an unrelated issue, according to police.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the department.

start reporting the race of the victims and perpetrators, so we can see what is real! Not like i don't know the media wants to cover up black on white crime, and promote white on black crime. That is called white genocide!
