Glen Burnie Area Schools To Receive 8 New Teachers
The Board of Education's preliminary list reveals that at least eight new teachers are coming to local schools.
Southgate is one of eight Glen Burnie area schools to receive new teachers in the fall—with the elementary school receiving at least two teachers.

When the County Council adopted the fiscal year 2013 budget, it funded 128 new personnel at county schools for the new school year—including 75 new teachers.
Last week, Anne Arundel County Public Schools spokesman Bob Mosier shared a preliminary list with Patch that shows least eight new teachers are coming to Glen Burnie area schools.
The distribution of teachers is determined by regional assistant superintendents, who meet weekly throughout the summer to analyze school population data, Mosier said.
Listed below are the Glen Burnie area schools scheduled to receive new teachers:
- Brooklyn Park Elementary
- George Cromwell Elementary
- Glendale Elementary
- Hilltop Elementary
- Richard Henry Lee Elementary
- Solley Elementary
- Southgate Elementary—two teachers
