In January Don Foderaro, a health teacher at North County High School, was named the Anne Arundel County school board educator of the month for his work as a football and wrestling coach as well as his work with anti-bullying.

Now he is one of four Glen Burnie area educators were included in the list of 15 semifinalists for the 2012 Excellence in Education Teachers of the Year.

The top five finalists are scheduled to be chosen later this month. The Public and Private School Teachers of the Year will be announced April 16 at the annual Excellence in Education banquet at the BWI Marriott in Linthicum, according to a press release from Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS).

Other Glen Burnie area semifinalists include:

• Sarah Jester, Northeast High School
• Sandi Lemoncello, Marley Elementary School
• Kathryn Williams, Linthicum Elementary School

The event is sponsored by AACPS and the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.
