UPDATE: Gino's Hopes for Thursday Opening
A Facebook post late Wednesday night announces the restaurant's opening—pending final approvals.
UPDATE (7:45 a.m.)—For those eager for the opening of Gino's in Glen Burnie, the wait is nearly over. Late Wednesday night, the restaurant's Facebook page announced a Thursday opening.
On Sunday, the site announced the restaurant would open Wednesday and the 86-year-old former Colts defensive end Gino Marchetti would appear Thursday at his namesake restaurant. However, a Facebook update late Wednesday night postponed the opening.
Patch previously reported that some things about the new restaurant will be a little different than the old Gino's that some residents remember. There are new menu items such as chicken tenders and sandwiches, but other things remain the same—including the popular Gino’s Giant burger.
The restaurant is located at 7598 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. Patch was unable to confirm an exact time for the restaurant's opening.
Stay tuned for more information.
