2011 Graduation Guide: Glen Burnie High School
Patch brings you all you need to know about Glen Burnie High's Friday night graduation at the Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro.
The day has finally arrived—more than 400 Glen Burnie seniors are expected to walk across the stage Friday night and receive their high school diplmoas.
Headed to the event? Here are a few things you might want to know:
- Date: Friday, June 3
- Time: 7:30 p.m.
- Place: The Show Place Arena and Prince George's Equestrian Center, 14900 Pennsylvania Ave., Upper Marlboro
- Keynote speaker: At-large Anne Arundel County Board of Education Member Andrew Pruski
- Valedictorian: Greg Kogut—4.5 GPA, with plans to attend Johns Hopkins University
- Salutatorian: Kellie Crowe—4.2 GPA, with plans to attend the University of Baltimore
About 420 seniors are expected to graduate with 75 percent of them planning to attend two- or four-year colleges, said assistant principal David Kauffman.
"Students received over $4 million in scholarships," he said. "That's the most money [students have received] in school history."
Kauffman said there is a graduation scheduled right before Glen Burnie's, so those attending the ceremony should plan to arrive early.

My wonderful granddaughter, Victoria Renee Hall, is graduating today, June 3rd. She will be attending college in Virginia, on her way to becoming a lawyer. Her grandfather and I are extremely proud of her and wish her all the best in this new chapter of her life !!
