Monarch Academy Names Board Chair

Monarch Academy Public Charter School serving Anne Arundel County named Michael Wodka chair of its board of directors. Wodka, who has more than 25 years of engineering experience, is assistant director of design with the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC).

Wodka started with the HABC as a mechanical engineer more than 17 years ago and has helped with capital improvement projects including implementing federally-mandated handicapped accessibility requirements. He also was a member of The Children’s Guild board. Wodka earned a degree in mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech.

In addition, Monarch Academy named two new board members:

  • Marie Caputo, partner of Clifton Gunderson Certified Public Accountants & Consultants
  • John Murkey, senior vice president of BB&T
